Terms of Service
Effective date: July 17, 2026
These Terms of Service govern your use of the Inspect My Chef mobile application and the website at inspectmychef.com(together, the “Service”), operated by SimTech Affiliates LLC, a North Carolina limited liability company. By using the Service you agree to these Terms.
Use of the Service
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app for your own non-commercial use. You agree not to disrupt the Service, scrape data beyond reasonable personal use, attempt to bypass access rules or subscription gates, or impersonate any person or entity.
Inspection data
Restaurant inspection scores and grades in the Service are sourced from publicly available government records. We standardize and refresh this data on a best-effort basis, but we are a translator, not a regulator: we do not guarantee that any specific score is current or error-free at the moment of viewing, and the issuing authority’s own record — linked from every listing — is always the source of truth. Scores are not health advice; always confirm sensitive details with the relevant health department.
Your content (Community Notes)
If you opt in to sharing, you keep ownership of the ratings and notes you post, and you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to display them in the Service. You agree not to post content that is unlawful, deceptive, harassing, hateful, or obscene, or that contains personal information about others. We may hide or remove content that violates these rules and may restrict accounts that repeatedly break them. You can report any note and block any author from within the app, and you can edit a note for 24 hours after posting and delete your notes at any time.
Subscriptions & billing
Optional Premium features are sold as auto-renewing subscriptions billed through your Apple App Store or Google Play account at the price shown before purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; you can cancel anytime in your app-store account settings, and cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period. New users may receive a free trial or introductory access; unused portions are forfeited on purchase where store rules provide. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies.
Verified listings (restaurant owners)
Restaurant owners may claim their listing and, once ownership is confirmed, purchase a Verified subscription. Ownership claims are reviewed by our team and may be approved or declined at our discretion; providing false ownership information is a violation of these Terms. Verified status requires maintaining the eligibility standard shown in the app (currently a top-tier hygiene grade) and an active subscription, and may be suspended if either lapses. A Verified badge indicates a confirmed owner relationship — it is not an endorsement of the restaurant by SimTech Affiliates LLC.
No warranties
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” SimTech Affiliates LLC makes no warranties, express or implied, regarding accuracy, availability, or fitness for a particular purpose.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, SimTech Affiliates LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for decisions made in reliance on inspection data in the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.
Changes to the Service or Terms
We may add, change, or remove features over time, and we may update these Terms. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date; continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
