Delete my data

Last updated: September 19, 2026

Inspect My Chef™, by SimTech Affiliates LLC, works without an account, and most of what you save never leaves your phone. This page explains how to delete each kind of data — yourself, in seconds, or by asking us.

1. Delete your shared Community Notes — in the app

Community Notes you chose to share are the main thing the app stores on our servers. To remove them:

  1. Open Inspect My Chef and tap the Settings gear at the top of the Home screen.
  2. Scroll to Your data.
  3. Tap Delete my shared Community Notes, then Delete.

Sharing is switched off and every note you published is removed from our database immediately. The app tells you how many notes were removed. If it says “Not deleted”, check your connection and try again, or use the email route below. You can also un-share a single note from your Dining Diary at any time.

2. Delete what is stored on your phone

Your favorites and lists, Dining Diary entries and photos, trips, recently viewed restaurants, score-alert history, saved offline results, blocked authors, and settings (including your choice of navigation app) are stored only on your device. We never had a copy, so there is nothing for us to delete. To remove them:

  • remove individual items inside the app; or
  • erase everything at once by uninstalling the app — or, on Android, by opening your phone’s Settings → Apps → Inspect My Chef → Storage → Clear storage.

3. Ask us to delete everything else — by email

Email Simtechaffiliate@simtaff.com with the subject “Delete my data”. This route covers:

  • beta feedback you sent from the app;
  • reports you filed about Community Notes, and any notes the in-app control could not reach;
  • your anonymous identifier and anything stored against it;
  • an email address you gave to the earlier waitlist on this website (now closed);
  • when those features open: a restaurant owner account or ownership claim, and the subscription status we hold for you.

Because the app has no login, help us find your records: tell us the Community Notes display name you used, the approximate date and subject of any feedback you sent, or the email address you gave the earlier waitlist. We complete verified requests within 30 days and confirm by email when it is done.

What is kept

Nothing that identifies you. Short-lived server logs kept by our hosting providers expire on their own. Restaurant inspection records are public government records about restaurants, not about users, and are not affected. When subscriptions launch, purchase records held by Apple or Google stay under their control — manage those in your App Store or Google Play account.
